Imagination Destination

Kids are wonderful -
this weekend, I appraised their
creativity;

They were excited,
even the middle schoolers!
their hope inspired me;

Paradoxically,
though I love all the children,
I had myself snipped;

Life goes by quickly;
"HEY!" what happened to my day?
and so I hold on -

"Wait!" I say to time;
"I'm not finished with that hour!
Give it back to me!"

So I am behind,
and I will do anything
to put on the brakes;

I need to catch up
and make myself something be-
fore I reproduce.
